The Happy Hocky Family

If you want a good laugh, I highly recommend reading The Happy Hocky Family! by Lane Smith and it’s sequel, The Happy Hocky Family Moves to the Country!

I laughed so hard when I read them that my children practically ripped them out of my hands to read them for themselves.  Admittedly, I had to explain some of the jokes to them, but most of them they understood, and read aloud to each other, laughing hysterically.

Our favorite from The Happy Hocky Family!:

We like our toys.  We take CARE of our TOYS.  We do not want our toys to become broken. We want to keep our toys for a long time.

Cousin Stinky has come over to play.  “Where are your toys?” he asks.

“What is ‘TOYS’?” we ask.  “We do not know what that word means.”

Cousin Stinky has left.  We like our toys.

I think each one of my kids read that little story aloud at least twice, they laughed so hard.

Do not miss the author’s bio on the back flap of the dustcover on either book.  I read them to my children and we all had a really good laugh at those too.

In the small print on the front flap, it says these books are for “Ages: All.”  I will wholeheartedly agree with that assessment.  All ages will enjoy laughing at these books!
