Greg’s Microscope by Milicent E. Selsam should carry a warning:
“Causes intense desire for microscopes in children.”
This easy-to-read book explores the world found under a microscope slide from the perspective of a young boy. He looks at salt, sugar and a myriad of other things in his house through his new microscope.
His interest in the microscope peaks the interest of his parents and his neighbors, causing him to wonder if one microscope is enough for his family.
Greg’s Microscope is a great introduction to the science of everyday things, and to the unseen world. Both my boys and my girls enjoyed this book. And all of them asked for a microscope after finishing it.
