Rechenka’s Eggs

Every day in winter, Babushka would prepare for the Easter Festival in Moskva by painting an egg shell from her basket. Until one day, when the goose she rescued was startled and broke all of Babushka’s eggs.

Babushka was so sad – she would not be going to the Easter Festival that year. But her pet goose had other plans…

Patricia Polacco’s book Rechenka’s Eggs is a wonderful picture book to read aloud to your children for the Easter season. Polacco’s fanciful story and beautiful pictures emphasize the beauty of life and nature we all enjoy in the spring. And children get a glimpse into Russian Easter traditions.

Recommended for ages 18 months and older.
