It’s Thanksgiving

If turkey’s thought, they’d run away
A week before Thanksgiving Day,
but turkeys can’t anticipate,
And so there’s turkey on my plate.

My children and I always enjoy a good rhyme from author Jack Prelutsky.

In It’s Thanksgiving, Prelutsky entertains readers with short and long poems about Thanksgiving.  Written for beginning readers, this book has colorful illustrations, lots of white space and few words on each page. But readers of all ages will enjoy these fun poems which celebrate the holiday.

When the turkey gobbles gobbles,
It is plump and proud and perky,
When our family gobbles gobbles,
We are gobbling down the turkey,

Recommended especially for ages5-8, depending on reading ability, but anyone will enjoy this book.
