Coronavirus quarantine has me revisiting old friends. I pulled a box of books from the storage unit and my daughter went through it, looking for familiar faces she wanted to re-read.
She can’t read them all at once, so I grabbed a few I wanted to read again from her stack.
Detectives in Togas by Henry Winterfeld is a family favorite. The first time I read it aloud, we were all engrossed in the story and didn’t want to stop!
The second time I read it aloud (for the younger kids), my older two returned to the living room to hear it again – and we all were just as delighted as the first time.
Adventure. Mystery. A set of mischievous boys. A quarrelsome teacher. This fun, fast-paced story is one the whole family will enjoy.
Imagine our excitement to realize there was an equally fun sequel! The Mystery of the Roman Ransom does not disappoint either.
Both highly recommended as family read-alouds.
